Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes succeed nights of air raids in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
